About Matthew Quelch
Matthew is particularly interested in assessments which enable career entry and progression. In his role, he enjoys working with employers to create valid assessments that reflect their occupations and are recognised by industry.
Driving his work at Kaplan Assessments is his passion for ensuring that all learners have fair access to education and development.
Experience
Matthew joined Kaplan in September 2023, having spent 15 years in the sector.
He started his career as an Assessor of Apprentices and has since held various roles across assessment design, delivery and quality assurance.
One of which was at the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education. This was a collaborative role, in which Matthew worked alongside the government, employers, awarding organisations, and regulators to develop assessment and assurance policies.
Qualifications
- Qualified Assessor, including end-point assessment
- Qualified Internal and External Quality Assurer
Specialisms within the sector
Matthew specialises in apprenticeship and assessment policy. This has led him to speak at various key events, including the National Degree Apprenticeships Conference, sector forums, and foreign government and industry delegations.
Matthew enjoys volunteering as an assessor at skills competitions and industry awards.
