About Jackie Panter

Jackie has been a Primary School Governor for nine years and a Chair of Governors for four.

To support her in these roles, she has completed ongoing training and development. In particular, this includes the Chair of Governors Leadership Development Programme and Assessment, validated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership

Experience

Jackie worked as a full-time practising solicitor until 2001, at which point she transitioned to the role of Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. In this capacity, she was responsible for teaching on the postgraduate programmes for trainee solicitors (the LPC) and pupil barristers (BVC).

Alongside her role at the university, Jackie continued to practise part-time as a solicitor. This enabled her to maintain the currency of her legal practice and, in turn, inform her teaching.

In 2008, Jackie was appointed the Legal Practice Course Director (LPC)/Principle Lecturer in 2008. During this time, she led a successful programme review of the LPC. This included a comprehensive course re-design, as well as overseeing internal and PSRB validation processes to align the programme with the evolving PSRB training regulations.

During the development of legal services apprenticeships in 2012, Jackie was asked to lead the consultation process with employers. This is a credit to her high level of expertise and experience in the sector.

In 2014, Jackie was appointed Associate Head of Manchester Law School. This role involved participating in a range of projects on both a national and local level, specifically concerning ongoing changes in the legal education and training sector.
